Trivia[]
- The segment is inspired by numerous comedy shows that satirizes news programs such as Banana Split, IBC's Sic O'Clock News, and GMA's Bubble Gang (notably 4 Oras (itself a parody of 24 Oras) and Balitang News).
- When Goin' Bulilit returned in 2024, GB Patrol became a pre-programming segment for TV Patrol, albeit in a spoofed format.
- Additionally, the show is also aired on weekdays after TV Patrol Express which is a 15-minute edition of the news program.
- There are other iterations of GB Patrol prior to the 2024 revival, such as Maybe Patrol.
- There are facts of the names of characters:
- Jeep Canoy - a pun to a jeepney (often shorted to just "jeep") and Jeff Canoy.
- Niko Bawang - Niko Baua's surname replaced with a Filipino term for garlic.
- Alvin Elchika - the "co" in Alvin Elchico's surname replaced with "ka", referencing to the word "chika", a Filipino term for a gossip.
- The character's name is also used by one of Ogie Alcasid's characters in TV5's Tropa Mo Ko Unli.
- Ganiel Krushniya - has the surname of Ganiel Krishnan replaced with the term "crush niya" (albeit non-spaced and the letter C replaced with K), meaning her "crush". In addition, the character's surname may be a pun to Chechnya (one of republics in Russia) and the surname of former premier of then-Soviet Union, Nikita Khrushchev.
- Lonely Boy de Castro and Only Boy de Castro, all are variants of Noli de Castro, might be a reference to de Castro being the solo anchor of TV Patrol between 1996 and 2001.
- Korina Sunkiss - Korina Sanchez's surname replaced with the phrase "sun kiss", albeit non-spaced to read "sunkiss".
- Bernadette Soprano - Bernadette Sembrano's surname replaced with a type of a classical singing voice.
- This may be a reference to Sembrano being a singer and songwriter which happened in 2020 when she co-wrote the theme song of Ang sa Iyo ay Akin, and even releasing her own songs as well.
- Inzane Hernandez - first name of Zen Hernandez replaced with the word "insane", with the letter S on it replaced with the letter Z to read "inzane".
