Ronald Allan Kelley Poe, better known as Fernando Poe Jr. or simply by his initials FPJ and Da King, was a Filipino actor and filmmaker. In a career spanning nearly five decades, he has played lead roles in action films. He is also the founder of production company FPJ Productions.
His 1996 film Ang Probinsyano was adapted into a television series under the name FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. Topbilled by Coco Martin, it became the highest-rating primetime drama series, particulary for a TV Patrol lead-out series. Due to its success, another FPJ film, Batang Quiapo, has been adapted to its own drama series starring Martin and FPJ's daughter Lovi Poe.
