Bernadette Sembrano[fn 1] is a Filipino newscaster, TV host, singer, songwriter, vlogger and YouTuber. She is an anchor of TV Patrol since 2015, and a host of Tao Po!
Career[]
Sembrano began working with ABS-CBN in 2004, after leaving her former network GMA Network. She was an anchor of TV Patrol Weekend from 2005-2011. Following Pinky Webb's departure from ABS-CBN, Sembrano was a rotational fill-in for Webb until she became a permanent replacement for Korina Sanchez on the main weekday edition in August 2015.
Bloopers[]
In May 2015, a few months before joining the weekday edition of TV Patrol, she committed a blooper in the weekend newscast. While her then-co-anchor Alvin Elchico (later her co-anchor in the weekday edition) is reporting, she crumpled her paper and was about to throw her script.
On November 15, 2024, seconds after the commercial break ended, TV Patrol returned on-air. Sembrano was reporting live from the Sagip Kapamilya Warehouse, reporting about people who want to donate to ABS-CBN Foundation for the victims of successive typhoons that struck the country in the past months. Around four seconds after her face appeared, she said to the cameraman, "Sa'yo ako ha", but after a few seconds began to report. This dialogue became viral, and the news anchor herself posted this on TikTok. This line later became a meme for netizens.
