ALLTV is a free-to-air broadcast television network of Advanced Media Broadcasting System, under blocktime agreement with ABS-CBN Corporation.
Background[]
On January 5, 2022, the National Telecommunications Commission, awarded the frequencies of VHF analog channel 2 and digital channel 16 to AMBS. These channels were formerly used by the ABS-CBN television network which was shut down due to a cease and desist order from the NTC on May 5, 2020, and Congress rejected the renewal of its broadcast franchise on July 10, 2020.
In June 2022, it began its test broadcast and on September 1, 2022, it was announced that the relaunched channel 2 will be launched as ALLTV which was soft launched on September 13.
Originally, the network's talents included former ABS-CBN talents such as Willie Revillame, Anthony Taberna, Toni Gonzaga (including her husband Paul Soriano), Zandro Ochona and Mariel Rodriguez, along with singer-actress Ciara Sotto.
In April 2024, ALLTV signed a blocktime deal with ABS-CBN to air Jeepney TV programming, along with the flagship newscast TV Patrol and it's weekend edition. TV Patrol Express would also start simulcasts on the network, along with daytime programming Magandang Buhay and It's Showtime.
Trivia[]
- ABS-CBN's transmitter, the Millennium Tower, is currently operated by AMBS, but the transmitter's ownership remains with ABS-CBN since AMBS had leased it.
- Many of ALLTV's original programs launched in 2022 and 2023 (prior to it's blocktime by ABS-CBN) such as Kuha All!, Wowowin, M.O.M.S. - Mhies on a Mission and Toni Talks had cancelled and/or aired replays of previous episodes, partly due to either low ratings or technical issues.
