The ABS-CBN Christmas Special is an annual concert organized by the network, featuring artists from the network. As the title implies, the concerts are usually held during the Christmas season.
The specials have been held annually since 1992, typically during the second week of December, and being broadcast on TV every third weekend of December, being divided into two parts, with the first part being aired on Saturday, and the second on Sunday.
Since 2008, the specials have been held solely at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, except in 2014, which was held in the ASAP studios after it was postponed following the impacts of Super Typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit). and from 2020-2022, due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Typically, during it's airing, I Can See Your Voice or Pinoy Big Brother would fall to pre-emptions during the Christmas Special Weekend.
In 2020 and 2021, owing to the restrictions the specials were staged live as a one-day concert, with no physical live audience present due to health protocol restrictions, as well as being staged at the ABS-CBN Studio 10 (as it wasn't feasible to stage it live from Araneta due to the restrictions in those years that could cause a huge spread of the disease). John Prats also directed the specials during the said years. The 2022 special would revert to the two-part airing that was in pre-pandemic Christmas Specials, while retaining the closed-door taping setup.
In 2023, the Christmas Specials would return to being staged live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with a full live audience being admitted in the venue, with Joane Laygo directing them, however, the Love, Joy, Hope: The ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2025 was held in ABS-CBN Studio 10 instead.
